Secrets to Finding Affiliate Marketing Partnerships

The critical words in that title are affiliate marketing partnerships. The super affiliates I know have taught me the success comes after forming great relationships with the product owners, they recognize that business is built on solid partnerships.

When you are working hard in the beginning to get your business set up, I know that you want to open up you computer and see a message telling you that you have made a sale. Affiliate sales = money.I can sure identify with that, however, I want to encourage you to take the time to get yourself positioned appropriately.

You need to really spend time researching programs that you may want to promote. Your reputation is gold, and you don’t want to take the chance of compromising that by associating with programs that either are not a good match for your target market, or simply are a mediocre product. Don’t be lured by a good commission for a product that may disappoint your customer.

There are affiliate marketing opportunities for beginners….

As you start researching, there are things that you need to keep in mind when considering whether the product will work well with your business. You have worked hard to identify your niche market, now you need to consider the best ways to serve their needs. From my point of view, every business is a service business, because I think customer service is key. With the element of service in mind, as you search for products that make sense to promote, you need to remember that you are making a business decision.

There are certain questions you need to know the answer to when considering a program.   When conducting your due diligence process,  you are beginning to build a relationship with the programs owner. It is important you ask:

First and foremost is this a product your customers need
What type of materials will be provided to help you promote the product
Will the product owner write articles for your blog
Are they willing to do an interview
Do they answer customer emails, and is the answer timely
Do they have a number of articles available for use
Do they “guest blog”
What affiliate marketing tools do they provide
Do they provide banners that work on your website
What are the terms of the cookies they will provide
What type of access to the manager of the program offering
Don’t be intimidated just because this may be your first foray with a certain program. If you were going to make an investment in a new refrigerator for your home, the wise buyer will likely do research first, “Consumer Reports” entire business is built on that very premise.

The other secret to successful affiliate marketing partnerships

It is really important to remember that there is a flip side to the all important business realtionship that you are wanting to build. There are definitely things that the program manager is looking for in this partnership as well.

You need to be prepared to provide the things that concern the program owner. Don’t be surprised that the manager of a very successful program may have criterial that they expect their affiliates to meet. Some of those thing may include but not be limited to  questions like these:

How do you intend to promote the prodouct
What experience do you have with the product
How many visiters does your website get per month
How old is your website
What is your target market
Is that market a good match for the product
What keywords are you using to optmized your site
What is your SEO plan
Do you use Social Media
What is your most successful social media platform
What is your typical conversion rate
If you are brand new to this business, you should know a lot about the program before you approach the owner. If you can demonstrate that you have used the product, are a loyal follower of the owner, and have obvious eagerness and enthusiasm to be involved, it will probably make a good impression on the program manager.

Remember, affiliate partnerships are built on trusted relationshiops.

Remember the title of this blog, it is all about developing an affiliate marketing partnership. Just as it is important for you to work on building a great relationship with your customer, it is important to work toward creating a good working with your business partners as well.

All of you know that I am trying to teach you things I have learned from classes and mentors I have met  along the way. I have spent more hours than I can count, along with a considerable amount of money to compile a lot of this imformation. To be perfectly honest, there is a lot of information that I have paid for that I have not yet even consumed. That is pretty embarassing, but I am willing to bet that a lot of you have done the same thing. Don’t worry, I won’t ask you to raise your hand.

The point of my admission is that although those programs may have valuable information, I probably won’t pick any of those programs to recommend to other, at least not until I have had time to actually use them. For the most part, I have not yet spent the time to invest in building an ongoing relationship with those programs. I am guilty of joining a number of affiliate programs that I have never even taken the trouble to take a close look at the materials they provide for marketing, and the reason is that I have not even used the product, and can’t honestly recommend it yet.

Program owners invest in affiliates who get results

I had a class taught by a number of program owners, and they said that it is not much of an exageration to say that ten percent of their affiliate make ninety percent of the sales. It is a no brainer to conclude that they spend a lot of their time building those relationships, because those are valuable partnerships.

In January, I attended an online seminar that was given by a really impressive panel of affiliate marketing experts. The amount of information they provided was really mind boggling, and they are continuing to provide excellent information every week. It will culmlinate in August when they are holding a weekend live seminar in Atlanta. It is called NAMS (Niche Affiliate Marketing Seminar) and I have every intention of going and meeting all those experts in person.

I am going to recommend it to all of you.

I have done my due dilengence
I know the quality and quantity of the information
I am an enthusiastic consumer who really believes that this is really a ture bargain for anyone who is looking for affiliate marketing opportunities for beginners
The good news is that you can still get in on a great deal. The better news, is that you could join the affiliate program for NAMS and earn affiliate commission by recommending it to your customers. If you happen to be looking for an affiliate marketing opportunity for beginners, this honestly is one of the best things I know of. It will have not only tons of information from people worth paying attention to, but there are hands on workshops too!  I highly recommend you take the time to read about the seminar and then make your decision. It is a great place to start building your affiliate marketing partnerships.I am convinced that sometimes it pays you to invest in education.
